| EAA CHAPTER 1232 NOVEMBER 22, 2003 MEETING NOTES November 22nd we had our annual General Meeting, elections and BBQ. This was held at Gordon Danielson’s hangar at Smith Ranch airport and was well attended with over 24 members present. Acting President Phil Simon gave a review of the years activities which included a workshop on operation of milling machines in March, a talk on aviation charts in April, a tour to the Nike site at the GGNRA in May, a fly out to the Golden West Air show in June, a very successful Young eagles Day in July where 65 kids were given rides. A very popular tour of AeroCrafters at the Santa Rosa airport where we saw W.W.II planes being restored, and the always interesting tour of the Castle AFB museum in Sept. Acting Secretary/Treasurer Ron Jagels gave a financial report and Covered his ongoing work with the IRS in our goal to achieve tax-exempt status for the Chapter. Elections were held and the results are: President - Phil Simon, Vice President - Gordon Danielson, Secretary/Treasurer - Ron Jagels After discussion it was decided that for 2004 the Chapter should have Monthly meetings AND activities (in 2003 we had a meeting OR an activity). This means in 2004 we will have eleven meetings on the 4th Saturday of each month except for December. Additionally, we will have fly outs and tours on another day of the month. The board will meet shortly to come up with the 2004 calendar. Blitz Fox volunteered to host next years BBQ at his hangar at Gnoss Field. His hangar has many amenities (BBQ, wine coolers, etc.) and we are looking forward to this. Blitz has suggested that we hold the BBQ on a different date (possibly in October instead of November) and that we have better food. Ken Willoughby volunteered to be in charge of coffee and donuts for the 2004 meetings. Al Sonntag and Dan Barnett volunteered to help find speakers and to plan the fly-outs. Ray Brice volunteered to help the Chapter with long range planning on matters such as finding a “Home”, a Chapter building project, community aviation education projects, etc. It was suggested the Chapter create a section of our Web site where Aviation books, videos and magazines could be loaned/ borrowed. Additionally, tools could be borrowed/ loaned and people could solicit or offer to work on projects. The meeting was adjourned and the BBQ started. It was professionally Handled by our resident chef Bill Bastida. | ||
